As I mentioned in a previous blog post, effective today
(March 29) Big D Country is now officially upgraded to a PRO station.
One
of the most obvious changes will be the Live365 ads - you won't hear them on the Live365 feed any longer. Starting on Wednesday,
March 30, all the ads you hear will be ours.
The
upgrade has also increased our ability to host simultaneous listeners. Go ahead and share Big D Country with a friend! We
can now host up to 500 simultaneous listeners. So tell your friends about us.

We are now preparing to sell our own advertising in-house. In the
Live365 world, this is known as PRO broadcasting.
For
potential sponsors, advertisers, and even churches and ministries - this means that it is now possible for you to buy time
directly from me.
As part of this
transition, for businesses on MerchantCircle, I have provided coupons that are good for a 15% discount for ALL ad flights,
time blocks (such as church broadcasts) and packages, as long as they are prepaid now. In other words, purchase your ads now..and
run them ANYTIME during the remainder of the year!
Another
change is the upgrade from broadcasting at 32k to the much-better-sounding 64k. Realizing that we still have a few listeners
on dial-up, this seems like the best all-around compromise. We've definitely come a long way from those 8k days when I was
having to broadcast FROM a dial-up connection.
And
remember, we are LIVE and LOCAL with a morning show that originates from our studios located just outside of Tallahassee,
Florida. Yes, I take requests, and play them back in accordance with all of the DMCA rules. The station is fully licensed.
That alone takes up about half of the monthly costs of streaming.
