This coming Monday - Monday, January 17 - looks to be an interesting
day, as Ken Deutsch from Radio World is scheduled to interview me for an upcoming feature story.
As a freelance writer who has also written for RW, I can't think of a better
industry publication to share the Big D Country story with.
At
this point in time, I'm not sure exactly which part of the Internet radio venture they are seeking to focus on. I'll keep
you posted.
I would like to take a moment to wish all of our listeners, friends,
fans, and artists best wishes for a Happy New Year. It is my hope that 2011 will be a good year for all.
One of the most active pages we now offer is our Facebook page, which is
available through the link above, or simply by entering "Big D Country" in the search box on Facebook. For the past
two months of 2010, the Facebook page alone had more than 12,000 page views.
Because Big D Country operates as a station targeting a local/regional geographical area,
many items will naturally be local in nature. Of course, that means local weather and traffic information will be posted,
as needed. But there will also be items of interest for country music fans everywhere.
Also, I want to let you know that there are live people actiovely working
every day here at the station. This is no "let's put a playlist on and go off playing for a month" operation. We
are live almost every weekday morning. In addition, I actively seek out fresh new music, while working to retain the classic
country tunes that are loved by so many people. The TMStudios traditional country library is still on my wish list, by the
way!!
If there's a song you
haven't heard, and you would like to request it, please do! If I have it, I'll likely get it on the air within a day or two.
If I don't have it, I'll do my best to obtain it.
I
am very grateful to the record labels and music sites that have been so helpful over the past few months, as I have tweaked
the format to a more straight-ahead country sound.Thank you for your help.
During the coming months, we will be actively seeking sponsors to help keep us on the air.
I can't keep Big D Country going or growing without the help of other businesses. Let's work together for a win/win for everyone.
And to our listeners - 1500-plus presets and growing! Thank you for listening,
and if you enjoy the station, please share it with your friends. You can listen through the Live365 network or Radio Terra.
The morning show is simultaneously syndicated over both stream feeds.
